Steps to create the audiovisual project

 

Here are some tips on how to prepare your audiovisual project. These are just some very general ideas. Some –or maybe even none- of them may apply to your project. I am also including some links, which may be helpful. Come see me if you need further advice.

 

Ø   Have fun preparing the project! J

Ø   Think of what you want to express.

o     Write an outline of your main ideas. Remember that your project must relate to one of the topics discussed in class.

Ø   At this stage, you don't need to worry about every single detail; just focus on the big picture.

Ø   Think of how you want to express it.

o     Decide whether you want to shoot a documentary, produce a photographic portfolio, or a website with an analysis of crime films, etc.

o     For this decision, think of the best media to produce your ideas and also about the technology that is available and that you are most familiar with.

Ø   Show me your outline. I will give you feedback and some ideas.

Ø   Prepare a more detailed script.

Ø   Find your locations.

Ø   Action: go shoot your film or take the pictures.

Ø   Edit the film or the pictures.

Ø   Add music or sound if necessary.

Ø   Prepare a presentation for the class. Because of time constraints, you may need to edit your project for the presentation. Remember the presentation may last up to 15 minutes.
